WOMEN S/S 2020

Some of the fabrics from the Women’s SS 20 collection are detailed reproductions of 19th century jacquards found in the archives of one of the last surviving textile makers of the famous ‘Soierie Lyonnaise’. The Soierie Lyonnaise is a group of specialized silk weaving mills, established in the region of Lyon, France since the 17th century to present day.

10th anniversary of our flagship store in Aoyama

We organised an art exhibition at the Hara Museum at the end of March in Tokyo to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our flagship store in Aoyama.

The concept of this exhibition was to reinterpret again the two huge paintings of the 17th century by three new young Japanese artists selected by Dries and exhibited their works at the Hara Museum just for three days.

Fashion Tsushin filmed the opening cocktail in the evening of the first day as well as the cocktail organised the next day at Dries Van Noten Aoyama store.

It is a short documentary of Dries’ stay in Tokyo. It aired on Fashion Tsushin in May.

Luke Stephenson

Women S/S 2019

The images from an Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds have been an inspiration for the women Spring Summer 2019 collection.

An Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds began with a very simple idea, Luke Stephenson wanted to photograph budgies and met a great deal of people (mostly men) who were very knowledgeable about their hobby and only too happy to share it with him. Their enthusiasm became infectious so that by simply photographing a species Luke felt he was adding it to his collection.

For the Spring Summer 2019 women’s collection Luke made a new series of four photographs. These images are printed on a limited edition of shirts that are exclusively available with four of our partners.
