Kilo Kish (Kish Robinson) is an interdisciplinary artist, creative director, and designer working in music, film, and the written word. Musically, she has collaborated with Gorillaz, Vince Staples, The Internet, and Donald Glover, garnering attention since her debut in 2011. She takes a playful and curious approach to her work, finding meaning and depth through cross-medium exploration. Her work is characterized by existentialism, absurdity, and humor, explored through popular media formats like songs and music videos.
Her most recent exploration is American Gurl, an album and art project combining songs, essays, films, and performances created over three years. First initiated to explore the current state of the entertainment industry and the expectations placed on artists, further questions emerged about national history and the tropes associated with dreaming in America. These works were on view in 2022 as Times Square Arts Council's Midnight Moment, the world's largest, longest-running digital art exhibition.
